Ayan, founder of a U.S.-based AI startup, returns to the Kazakh steppe to collect cultural and acoustic references for a generative model he is developing. At the foot of a monumental steel horse, his technical expedition turns into a personal confrontation with language, memory, and cultural inheritance. The model can recognize the image of a horse, but it cannot hear the living voice carried by the Kazakh word “Жылқы” — horse.
