Can Mocan (known professionally as MOCAN) is an AI artist, filmmaker, photographer, director, and creative director with more than 20 years of experience in visual storytelling. His work combines realism with poetic imagery, exploring themes of identity, time, memory, and emotion through both traditional and emerging creative mediums. He earned his bachelor's degree in Photography and Video from Istanbul Bilgi University and completed his master's degree in Art Theory and Criticism at Işık University on a scholarship. Throughout his career, Mocan has collaborated with numerous notable figures and produced acclaimed visual projects that have been exhibited internationally. His work has received recognition from prestigious organizations, including the International Photography Awards, London International Creative Awards, and Black & White Spider Awards. In recent years, he has focused on the intersection of art, filmmaking, and artificial intelligence. As an AI artist and filmmaker, he creates experimental films and visual narratives that merge human creativity with machine-generated imagination, challenging conventional approaches to storytelling and image-making. Mocan is also the founder of pioti.ai, where he explores new forms of AI-driven creative production. He continues to develop projects across filmmaking, photography, creative direction, and generative AI, pushing the boundaries of contemporary visual culture.
